Cost of Kampo Medicines and “Indigo naturalis” at Hiroshima Clinic

I have written several times about the Hiroshima Clinic’s Chinese herbal medicine, but I have never been aware of its cost.

Looking for information on various websites, I found that it is 50 yen per capsule. After the consultation, I heard that you can order it by e-mail, and if you transfer 10000 yen, they will send you 200 capsules. Basically, they say 3 tablets a day, so that’s 150 yen a day.

Indigo naturalis” is available at “Seishin Shoyakudo Shop” where I bought it for about 4,760 yen for 500 grams including shipping, so if you take 2 grams 3 times a day, it will be about 19 yen per dose, or 57 yen a day.

Both Hiroshima Clinic’s Kampo medicine and “Indigo naturalis” do not cost much, but the cost of “Indigo naturalis” is about one-third of the cost of Hiroshima Clinic’s Kampo medicine. Well, the cost of the Hiroshima Clinic’s Kampo medicine is about 10,000 yen for about two months, so “Indigo naturalis” is cheaper in the long run.

It would be interesting to know how effective the other ingredients in the Hiroshima Clinic’s herbal medicine are in treating ulcerative colitis.
