Are there any side effects to “Indigo naturalis”?
I have patiently searched blogs and other sites where people with ulcerative colitis actually take it, but I can’t find any.
It seems that “Indigo naturalis” is often used as a herbal medicine in many herbal medicines, but we could not confirm if there are any side effects caused by “Indigo naturalis” in particular.
1. No side effects have been found on many websites or in the literature.
2. There are no descriptions of side effects in the diaries of myself and others who have actually continued to take it.
3. In Japan, “Indigo naturalis” is a non-medical product and is not subject to the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law.
4. It is a popular herbal medicine in China, Korea, Taiwan, etc.
For the above reasons, I would like to make a guess, but I do not think that there will be any serious side effects. Of course, since it is made from plants, it is impossible to say that there are no allergic reactions. We cannot guarantee that all people will not have side effects. Please use your own judgment when taking this product. I also recommend that you consult your doctor or pharmacist.
In my case, I am not sure if it can be called a side effect or not, but it is just a feeling of itchiness around the anus during and after defecation. I think this is probably caused by the fine particles of “Indigo naturalis”.
